Will be back soon
Sep 29th
Till now it has been a great journey for me, but now due to exams I will not be able to update my blog for some 20 days approximately. My exams will be ending on 13th October, so will be back in full swing then onwards.
I hope you will wait for this short interval & then continue to extend your valuable support once I return back from my exams. These 20 days are going to be the most difficult & long days, as I am a net addict person, but then again I can do nothing about it.
I am feeling really bad to leave you people alone for interval of 20 days, but I promise to bring you some good quality posts once I return.
Till then go read the older post from my blog archive or visit sites mentioned in my blogroll.
Keep Smiling, Rock On

Shower of Red Roses
Sep 26th
Hold on people; don’t get fooled by the title. Don’t mistake this for a love letter written by me to my lover, it’s about a incident which though held no importance to me but it strengthen my friendship without my knowledge.
Today my best friend kaustubh’s girlfriend was celebrating her birthday. So obviously, Kaustubh was discussing with me of the gift which he should present her with on this special day. After thinking of many gifts like wrist watch, photo frame, jewellery etc we were not satisfied. Kaustubh wanted to do something special, something different. He came with an excellent idea. The idea was to shower her (his GF) with petals of red roses. He asked me to shower the flowers. I was a bit reluctant at first as I would be in an awkward position, imagine showering a girl with flowers whom you don’t know well, that too in a public place.
The idea sounded innovative and romantic too, but the location to undertake it was worst as it could get. The location to shower her with the red petals was busy junction close to Dadar station & the time was 7:15 AM in the morning when she would come to Dadar for her college. At that time the place is usually crowded as people rush out to get to their offices, students leave for their colleges etc. But we could not decide of other place, as his sweetheart was going to come from the same path & also we could not reschedule it to a later time of the day, as his girlfriend was having her first paper of exams.
So last night, we four friends (Saurabh, Kaustubh, Sarvesh & me) met up and were just discussing how we would do it today. Kaustubh requested all three of us to become guards of honours for this day. He requested us to shower her with the rose petals. He said that so quickly that we thought he requested us to be gadhaw(donkey) instead of Guard of honours. I agreed instantly but none of the other two friends agreed to get up early & join me to shower the red roses. I was a bit reluctant to agree but later obliged as I didn’t wanted to disappoint kaustubh.
The day (26th September 2008) began, on a normal note for me. I got up at my scheduled time of 5:45 AM, after taking bath; I went down to meet Kaustubh at around 6:50 AM. We decided last night that Kaustubh would wake up early at 6:30 AM & purchase the roses, but surprisingly he didn’t come with any rose in his hand. I asked about the reason & he replied that he was late as his sister was getting late for her school.
We sprinted towards our local flower market, purchased four bundles of red roses & were coming to the location of the meet up. While on the way Kaustubh started pruning petals from the red roses as we were already late & kaustubh also got a call from his girlfriend telling she had reached Dadar station. We both started to run a bit as we were quite close to the station & were just hoping that she doesn’t catch us both together with those roses.
After a few minutes, we reached the spot where she was going to arrive. The place was swarming with office goers, college students & even some other unwanted people. I told kaustubh that we should shift the meet place to the adjacent lane which was quite lone and somewhat good than the busy junction. Kaustubh agreed. I went inside the lane & hid behind a building. Kaustubh said he will give me a miss call as an indicator of her arrival & then would make her face towards him so that I can come from behind and shower her with the red petals of roses.
I was waiting for the miss call & finally it arrived. I started walking towards her from behind but suddenly she turned a bit. Seeing her turn even I turned as I wanted to avoid her or else whole of our plan would have gone down the drain. But Kaustubh quickly grabbed her by both his hands & engaged her in a conversation. Seeing this I again started to walk at her, this time with a bit caution as the plastic bag in my hand was making some awful noise.
As I got close enough, I trusted my hand inside the bag containing petals & grabbed as much petals as possible. Then I showered them on her and she was surprised when the first wave of petals came on her. Later while when I threw them for the second time she looked back & was looking very happy. She was so happy, that I could no express it in words. The whole place was looking beautiful with the red petal scattered over the ground. Even Kaustubh was smiling and was happy too. Even I was happy as the task was completed as it was meant to be. I greeted her, gifted her dairy milk chocolate & left the place with smile on my face. All the while I noticed some people were glancing at three of us and their confused faces were worth seeing.
I left the place with a smile on my face. I was happy that I made someone happy. The happiness on Kaustubh’s face was a thing which I won’t forget. He later thanked me on behalf of his girlfriend & he personally too thanked me again for supporting him. I accepted it with a smile & we both hugged each other. I never felt that a thing which at first appeared silly to me could strengthen our friendship. The rest of the day went good as it kick started with a smile. Surely I will never forget this special day in my life. J
Keep Smiling, Rock On :)
Sep 25th
Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner,
and someone saw my grin -
When he smiled I realized,
I’d passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth,
A single smile,
just like mine,
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don’t leave it undetected -
Let’s start an epidemic quick
and get the world infected!
I got this wonderful poem, while browsing. It conveys a very important message to all of us, who are so busy or engaged in their life’s that rarely they have a moment to smile.Though our life’s are riddled with number of troubles & worries, we must smile & then will the world smile back to us.
I have adopted this Smile mission some few months ago & devised a new slogan for it,
“Keep Smiling, Rock On”. This is the reason why most of my post contain a
frequently.
Join me in mission Smile & make the world a more happier place to live.
Ganesh Utsav
Sep 23rd
Just like technology, I share an equal iota of passion for photography . I never miss to capture special moments in my camera. Be it any occasion or no special day, I have some GB’s of digital images spanning over my small 40 GB HDD & no of DVD’s.
Until now I used to take pics using my dad’s old yashica film camera, or via my sister’s nokia 3230, or via my friends N73, k750i, W810i and sometimes with my nokia 5700. Though these devices offered good pics but I always missed the shots which look good or for that matter taken only with a digicam.
A year ago, when I purchased my phone(Nokia 5700), I knew very well about it’s camera capabilities (2 MP Camera without AF), So I had decided then & there that I will be getting a digital camera soon. This wish came true on occasion of Ganesh utsav this year & I purchased Canon SX 100 IS(The first digital camera of my own).
No prices for guessing, the camera went under a stringent testing by me. Here are some pics of this year’s Ganesh utsav, taken from Canon SX 100 IS. The album is a mixture of snaps taken at relatives home and some hugely popular public Ganpati’s of Dadar, Mumbai.
Enjoy the ride of Lord Ganesha
Orkut does it again – Browser Compatibilty Suffers
Sep 20th
Recently due to some changes in Orkut, the site has stopped working in a variety of browsers.
The changes were implemented a few days ago. Due to the changes, the OSS (s60 browser) browser in new nokia smartphones displays just a blue page when you try to access orkut. The popular java browser, Opera Mini 4.1 is also affected, the site opens but only the left hand corner is visible. Horizontal scrolling in Opera Mini gets disabled, which means you cannot see the whole page of orkut be it scrapbook, friend list etc. I also found that Opera Mini 3.0, too failed to render anything. It just displayed a blank white page.
I also saw Opera 9.52 taking a long time to load orkut. The site functioned properly though, but the load time were very high when compared with Internet Explorer 6 or Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1.
The above means most of the mobile orkut users will have to stay without their popular networking site until Google makes the script compatible again. Even die hard Opera fans (including me) have no option but to access orkut using Internet explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
