The performance of java applications sometimes degrade when used in a Symbian environment. Same happens with the popular java application, Opera mini. You must have experienced that Opera Mini, takes a fair bit of time to close when you exit it. Even on phones with moderately good hardware, it takes around 10 seconds to exit Opera Mini.
The reason behind this can be attributed to Opera Mini saving your history of sites visited by you while closing up. This minor (actually major) irritant can be solved by clearing up the history before exiting Opera Mini.
To clear history of Opera Mini :
Press menu -> Go to Tools -> Select History -> Clear -> Yes.
After clearing the history, exit Opera Mini and voila it shuts down in about 3 seconds (max).
The above trick is confirmed to work on Nokia 5700, Nokia 5320, Nokia N73, Nokia N70 & Nokia 3230.
