Mumbai Indians back in action

After losing three matches on trot, eventually the Mumbai Indians managed to pull a comfortable win today over Royal Challengers Bangalore at Port Elizabeth. After putting 158 as target, the Mumbai Indians bowled well to pull a good 16 run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Batting first, things didn’t appeared well for the Mumbai Indians as Sachin Tendulkar got out in the very second over. Next to go was Sanath Jayasuriya in the 8th over. But luckily for Mumbai, J.P Duminy & Ajinkya Rahane came strong to take Mumbai Indians to 157 riding on a record 104 not out partnership for the third wicket in DLF IPL 2009.

Royal Challengers Bangalore started well and it seems as if they would be getting home at ease. Then Dwayne Bravo strucked in the third over removing the dangerous Jacques Kallis. After that it was a procession for Bangalore the same way Mumbai Indians fell the other day to Delhi Daredevils. Harbhajan Singh today bowled superbly taking two wickets & also was a part of crucial Rahul Dravid’s runout. The last over demanded 30 runs but Bangalore managed only 14 as they fell short by 16 runs.

Man-of-Match went rightly to the deserved J.P Duminy. The win pushes Mumbai Indians up the table on 6th position while Royal Challengers tumble down to the 7th position. The win ensures Mumbai Indians stay in as a contender for the semifinalist spot. If they wish to get into the semifinals, then they need to keep the momentum going in the upcoming games. Though not impossible but definitely not an easy task.

Good Luck Mumbai Indians :)
