My Computing Voyage – From Windows to Linux!
Feb 2nd
Exactly six years ago, a young boy was introduced to the world of computers. Back then he was very excited & celebrated the night when the brand new computer arrived at his doorstep. The whole family was jubiliant & so was he. The computer was loaded with Windows 98 & that’s how the little boy entered into this computer arena. For the first two years or so, the boy new nothing other than playing games on the computer. At that time, he felt like becoming a diehard gamer as his friend was a factory of games. He played on for two years but then lost interest in them. This was due to the realisation of the fact that computer is not a gaming device but an educational device.
Unofficial Digit Mumbai Meet – 16th May 2009
May 17th
We (Ankit, Gautam, Rhitwick, Vishal & me) had developed into more than casual friends after our last Digit Mumbai Meet which was a grand success. A couple of days ago, Rhitwick contacted me & asked whether I was ready for a trip to Lamington road (Rhitwick had to shop some peripherals) . I replied in affirmative since I was free due to my ongoing vacations. We(Rhitwick & me) then asked the other guys from our earlier meet & thus it was decided that the whole group would come together again for what could be called as an “Unofficial Digit Mumbai Meet”.

ThinkDigit Forum Mumbai Meet – 14th December 2008
Dec 19th
Online meets are organized very often in different places around the world all the time. Such meets helps in cementing & strengthening the rapport which exists between members of a forum/community. Such meets also help in making new friends who share similar passions like yours. It had been a long time since anybody on our ThinkDigit forum arranged a Mumbai meet. Last week itself a guy opened a thread regarding the same and the rest is history.
To start with we managed to grab only 6 members for the meet due to the exam season. We thought it won’t be fun with so less people but that didn’t deter us from taking the meet. Finally we scheduled to take the meet at Dadar on Sunday i.e. 14 December.
Meet with Rohan Shenoy
Dec 9th

It is always a pleasure for me to meet new people. I never miss any chance that may come by my way to meet an online friend. This time it was with Rohan Shenoy, whom I first met on Thinkdigit forum. I got to know a lot about Rohan from chatting & I always thought of meeting such a knowledgeable guy in person.
As there isn’t much distance gap between two of us, I thought a meet was indeed feasible. We both discussed about the meet on messenger and thereby scheduled it on 26th November in the afternoon at Dadar. We decided to meet at Kabutar Khana which is close to the Dadar railway station. We both exchanged our dress codes over the phone, as it would be then easy to identify each other.
